Urban League Townhomes

Mid-Atlantic was General Contractor for the completion of construction of four townhomes in Newark’s West Ward. The Urban League of Essex County was the project’s Developer, and purchased the unfinished 4 units from the City of Newark. The units sat incomplete for almost a decade after the previous Developer/Contractor experienced a project stoppage due to faulty construction. As abandoned and boarded up properties, the units were contributing to neighborhood decay and blight.

After completion the developer sold the units for $139,000 apiece as affordable housing, promoting home ownership in place of urban blight.
